Characteristics of the course

The course "up and down" which features Arco 2016 is the old town, the area of the castle, the olive groves, the mountain area called " Colodri " and, to make the race even more spectacular, the repeated passage in the arrival aerea.
To ensure all these characteristics, it's not possible to use a course of the same length as the track would either be too short or too long and, in each case missing one or more of the essential characteristics for the typicality of the race.
Therefore to assure these particular characteristics which make the race unique in its kind, there was the need to gain one or more mini loops to connect to the long course and related to the category o rather a medium-loop in the case of the Junior women. Regarding the race Senior man it was considered appropriate to foresee a “start-up lap" of 750 m into the historical center to contribute to a "extention" of the line of athletes in order to facilitate the first ascent to the castle.
All variants (mini-loops, medium long, long course) are integral parts of the same course.
The the starting area for all categories, in order to manage the starting grid, has been created in the large square called Ex- Foro Boario and located 50 meters from the arrival area / passages (Piazzale Segantini)
